Project Description

CH Reynolds took a page out of Pixar’s book when tasked with drawing plans for the animation giant’s three-story data center and basement in their 200,000 sq. ft. office building in Emeryville, California.

The project had complex and redundant backbone requirements, and its open architecture and hard conduit pathway divided into quadrants for each floor of the data center created minimized pathways. Given a quick delivery schedule, the CH Reynolds team had to devise a workable data center solution in record time.

CH Reynolds deployed the manpower necessary to quickly install Cat 6A cables to over 800 locations terminated on Systimax patch panels. They also installed a backbone utilizing 96-strand sm/96 strand mm 50 u laser speed 550 with 4,000 polish terminations and 100 pair Cat 3 PE89 cable. In delivering this complex three-story data center project on time, the CH Reynolds team made everything picture perfect for Pixar.

“Despite complex and redundant backbone requirements as well as a compressed schedule requiring over 300 construction workers to come on a daily basis, CH Reynolds facilitated the build-out seamlessly, and we are thrilled with the results”. – Pixar Animation
