CH Reynolds was tasked with installing core network gear and connectivity to activate a new 30,000+ square-foot data center in Richardson, Texas.
In taking on this project, CH Reynolds was tasked with resolving numerous installation challenges identified during the core network build, installing connectivity for servers/storage components, and providing an effective data center design consisting of rack elevations and a patch plan with source device name/port and destination device name/port.
Next, CH Reynolds installed all devices and project-managed the overall layer 1 effort, after which the company:
- Purchased all tools and necessary installation materials to complete the installation;
- Turned over to operations for follow-on break fix support;
- Defined and purchased additional fiber and copper cables to complete the build on schedule; and
- Identified and defined installation standards that could be utilized for other upcoming new client data center builds.
The project was originally forecast on a 12-week schedule to install, test, and turn over to operations. Thanks to the effectiveness of the CH Reynolds team, this entire project was completed four+ weeks ahead of schedule. CH Reynolds also gave the client a complete archive of documents to assist in achieving standardization in future data center deployment projects.
“We accelerated the schedule by four weeks, and CH Reynolds did what was needed to complete the entire build in approximately 7 weeks. We were thrilled with their quality of service and their quick turnaround”. – Cisco Systems
