CISCO DATA CENTER

Allen, TX

CH Reynolds was asked to install the core Cisco network gear as well as all connectivity to activate a new 100,000+ square foot data center in Allen, TX.

The project required CH Reynolds to optimize a data center design consisting of rack elevations and a patch plan with source device name/port and destination device name/port. Also, instead of the legacy, raised floor, this state-of-the-art data center required above-cabinet power and structured cable patch panels.

The CH Reynolds team developed standard patching cabling best practices leveraging Cisco’s use of Multi-Fiber Termination Push-on (MTP) for structured cable patch panels in the data center. They were also able to optimize the new data center’s design by developing a series of local best practices.

“The project enabled Cisco to decommission legacy data center capacity and consolidate many virtualized activities into this data center”. – Cisco Systems
