CH Reynolds was tasked with adding a new wing to Building #7 of the VA Palo Alto Medical Center, as well as installing cabling in the IDF building. The project’s requirements included electrical and teledata services, as well as a focus on the fire alarm, with a rough-in for a nurse call. It also included providing and installing horizontal station cabling, building security cabling, back plain, and outside-plant fiber optic cabling.

As it became a fully engineered project, the scope quickly expanded beyond the originally envisioned budget. With a single-story structure, steel frame, steel corrugated z-channel roof, and a steel-framed wall with sheet rock, CH Reynolds’ team members knew they would have to get creative to meet the client’s needs.

CH Reynolds expertly delivered the required electrical and teledata services, as well as the diverse cabling systems required for this project. Additionally, the team installed both the electrical boxes and wiring that would be needed for a nurse call station, easing the future installation of outlets, switches and light fixtures. The team ran all the cables from the panel box and secured them in a way that meets the standards of the National Electric Code.
